Foundation Mission

 

The Esther Cannizzo Junior Golf Foundation's mission is to promote and affect the lives of young people through the game of golf. Learning golf teaches more than just a skill, it parallels life in many ways. It teaches patience, discipline, integrity, perseverance as well as other life skills. Because of these life lessons, golf is a great game for all to play but especially kids.

 

However, this is a sport that requires significant financial means to progress even to the high school level, let alone the college or professional levels. Although some of the elite junior golf tours offer some assistance, a junior golfer has to be exceptional to qualify. There are many junior golfers who have demonstrated talent and skill and have no way to harvest it because of financial constraints.

 

The purpose of the Foundation is to provide financial assistance to these juniors so they have an opportunity to realize their potential. Funds raised by the foundation will be used to provide coaching, equipment, access to existing golf programs and tournament play.

 

The target will be juniors 12 and older who have shown a high interest in the game, have a financial need and the value system to work hard for their goals. Fellow golf professionals, guidance counselors and people in the golf community will recommend junior golfers who fit the criteria. It is the mission of the Esther Cannizzo Junior Golf Foundation to provide assistance to the sponsored juniors to further their goals and dreams.
