Who is Esther Cannizzo?

Esther was an avid golfer who loved the game of golf and loved children. She promoted the game of golf to her own children, her grandchildren, and many other children she came in contact with. This foundation is a way to honor her legacy and give children an opportunity to grow through the game of golf.

 

 

Who is eligible for a grant from the Esther Cannizzo Junior Golf Foundation (ECJGF)?

Any junior golfer ages 12 – 18 who shows a high level of interest in the game of golf and wishes to improve and compete. In addition, the junior’s family must have a financial shortfall when trying to provide opportunities for their junior to pursue their goals in golf.

 

 

What expenses will be covered by the Foundation?

Tournaments, coaching, and/or equipment expenses will be covered by the Foundation.

 

 

May I apply yearly?

Yes, a junior may apply multiple times while pursuing their goals in the game of golf.

 

 

What is the maximum amount of grant money a junior may receive?

A junior may receive up to $1500 per year.

What else do I need to apply for a grant?

You will need two letters of recommendation from a golf teacher, golf coach, guidance counselor, or a recognized member of the local golf community. Also you will need to provide verification of income.

 

 

How will I know that I have been accepted as a grant recipient?

Once all of your information has been received and reviewed by the ECJGF Board, the board will meet and make a decision. The President of the Foundation will contact you by phone or email.

 

 

Will I receive the grant money myself?

No, the grant money will go directly to the tour, the tournaments, the instructor, and/or the retailer.

 

 

Does the ECJGF provide grant money for tournament travel?

Yes, if you need grant money for travel, you should submit receipts for the travel and you will be reimbursed.

 

 

When should I apply for a grant?

You should send your application in 6 weeks prior to your first tournament or when you need the funding.
